It are 8 short stories, 3 minutes +/-. Each one narrates a different urban legend, like the hitchhicker, bugs in a letter, etc.
We worked in 7 of them.
The first of them was one called Protein where we see all the story a very fat girl beeing feeded while is attached to a chair in a dark and wet basement. After it she's forced to enter in a big oven where she will be cooked, and we can see it across a small window, where she tries to scape beating the door. Then we can see how her face beggins to inflate and bleed.
Then she dies and we see her body in a stretcher with all the corporal fat that has festered and two men gathering this fat and putting it in a cristal boat.
The first we did was the effect of the girl beeing cooked. For it we took the lifecast of the actress and we build directly to the plaster two large silicone bladders that we glued to her face like a normal appliance. Those bladders had two functions, the first was to inflate and deinflate the face, and after it we injected some blood and yellow liquid stuff like mostard.
The bladders. Aleix Torrecillas workingAfter it we maked up the actress's body directly with silicone Platsil and building with our fingers the shape of a burning flesh. This silicone is really a benediction!
Over the makeup we applied some tranlucent yellow methocel like it was the fat.
It was a really grateful day!

The second one was called Pretty.
It talks about a japanese mithology ghost. A pretty girl who hides with a mask a scar from ear to ear. Also known as "clown smile".
To make this effect we just build two small appliances that covered from the end of the mouth to the beginning of the ear.

The third one was called The Letter.
It talks about a woman that licks a letter to close it and cut her tongue with the edge.
We see in three phases how her tongue becomes bigger and bigger and infected for something.
After this phases we see how she dies and then in a mouth close up we see dozens of bugs leaving her body from her tongue.
So we decided to build three diffrent cases for her tongue, like condoms. Each one shows a diffrent phase.
The first one is just like her tongue but we see the cut in the middle a little bit inflated and with some grains. The second one is the same but with more volume and the third is biggen than a fist.
Platsil silicone cases
After it we builded an actress's part face prop with silicone. This prop was she with the mouth opened showing the infected tongue with some atrezzo like caviar eggs and KY.
We just put a hole in the wound where the bugs had to come across and walk over the face. It was really disgusting! But in camera it was real.
The first idea of the director was to pay a mount to the actress to put in her mouth a real bug... but I decided to make a prop.
Why are us here for???
Another chapter was called Ghost on the highway.
This one narrates the tippical story of the hitchhicker girl. Nothing new but a makeup in the arm of the actor that drives the car.
He's got an arm full burned, from the fingers to the edge of the jaw.
The actor wears a jersey, so i decided to build the appliance in two parts. One of them covered the full hand to the forearm. The other one covered one side of the neck, just a little bit under the shirt.
I did it to reduce time and money, so i knew that the full arm was never going to see, so.. why to make a full arm appliance?
I don't have any pictures of that makeup in my own, so i'll upload it soon....... another time;)
Primal fear was the name of another one.
Just an old effect... a man cutting the neck of other. This time the killer was the actor Paul Naschy, so it was a honor to work with.
We build an appliance for the actor's neck, covering from ear to ear, with a multiple-cutted tube inside it. That tube was connected to a pump machine that was full of liquified blood.
The prosthetic was made of silicone due the ugly wrinkles that foam latex does when moves in the neck.
The makeup was perfect, and the effect was amazing!! We could shot it five times!!

The last one we shotted was called Blood rain.
It was the name because in one scene we see a girl alone, sleeping in a car stopped in the mountain. She open her eyes because hears like raining but she does not see water.
In a camera movement we see a crazy man in the top of the car with the severed head of his boyfriend in his hands.
So we build a silicone prop. First of all making a life-cast of the actor with expression, so it helped us to give realism to the final piece.
Then we reconstruct some little parts that broke and add texture to the lifecast. Then we made a simple two pieces mold of silicone and applied three coats of Tinsil 10 silicone. An incredible silicone for me. Cures in three hours!!
Then we made some crystal eyes and attached the better one. What we did because the time was to use the same eyeball for both eye-holes. It were so closed that we could cut the eyeball in half. It was perfect!
So then I painted it with Skin Illustrator while Raquel Guirro was doing the wig. Then we punched some hair in the hair-line and the eyebrows and runned to the set at 01:00 AM!!
It was crazy but was the last day!
